A sync-week episode on what I am doing now to actually take a break this “winter” and the new cycle syncing hack that is working for me.
The best hack I have learned this cycle is using my Trello board as a way to be realistic about my to do list during my winter season, while also honoring the urge to turn inward and take some time to intentionally rest.
Business Tasks for Winter:
Writing emails
Website updates & audits
Updating photos/graphics
Reviewing what’s working and not
Planning for ‘spring’ & ‘summer’
Business trainings to implement after ‘winter’
Avoid things like…
Going live or recording content
Scheduling meetings
1:1 client calls
Networking events
Creating content
Starting something new
Anything that doesn’t feel right
Intentional Rest
Synching my to do list (for home, business and homeschool too- I share more in the episode!) is just one part of slowing down during the winter season of my cycle. I am also working on getting in more intentional rest. Because I don’t know about you but I struggle a lot with the mindset that productivity = good, and to be honest, there is just a lot going on over here that is really easy to get behind on and when I get behind I STRESS MAJOR. And the whole point of my routine is to lower my stress levels!
Here are some ways I am sneaking in intentional rest as a busy business owning homeschool mom….
Reading fiction, and going all cozy with it by grabbing some NORA tea (good for your cycle!) and my designated mom blanket.
Going to bed early or at least on time and sleeping in til my internal clock (or toddlers) wakes me up.
Swapping a normal workout for walking or something short and restorative.
