You don’t want to miss this episode. Learn the signs your induction is BS, so you can be prepared and stay in control during those last few prenatal appointments.
In this episode, I discuss:
4 induction red flags
How ACOG wants to induce all moms
ARRIVE Trial secondary analysis
Big baby and old placenta
Trusting your intuition and knowing baby is okay
1.You are a 39 week, first time mom, with no risks.
Sounds like a no brainer right? No risks, no need to induce. Except we live in a freaking clown town where ACOG recommends induction if you’re high risk and if you’re low risk. And if your provider is offering/recommending an induction at 39 weeks, it’s because of the ARRIVE trial.
Bottom line, if your induction is based on ARRIVE trial, it’s BS.
2. Your placenta is aging and your baby is too big.
IF the placenta could age, that would indicate it’s not functioning anymore and the placenta is what grows your baby.. So your baby would not in fact get too large.
Bottom line, a placenta that isn’t working cannot grow a too big baby. And also babies are never too big.
3. Everything looks great for 39 weeks then it doesn’t.
If you have been the picture perfect example of a healthy pregnancy every week and now all of a sudden something is off. That’s a big clue that it’s BS. The above examples fall in line here, as well as high blood pressure, low fluids, being 42 weeks, etc. This is especially true if you weren’t worried AT ALL until they said something.
4. Your induction is scheduled
If your induction can wait til Monday, you can wait for labor to start.
